As I ran this morning I was thinking about the generations of men in my family who have truly either lived half a life or always looked outside of themselves to be happy, often choosing distraction as opposed to connection with themselves. It’s sad when I reflect on them all but they have all taught me how much life is in our hands no matter how tricky it gets sometimes …and how powerful our perception of the now is …it really does affect both our reality and body chemistry of tomorrow. I remind my children on a regular basis everything begins within in life … to the point they now quote at me ‘you need a healthy immune system and a regulated nervous system to live your life well’ when ever something is not quite working … it makes me laugh everytime they say it but I am equally delighted something sinks in even if they are not aware of what it truly means right now. They will when they need to shift their own sails in life.
All too many people talk about diet and exercise being the cornerstones to good health but without the right connection within us our external world will always be lacking in some way ..we are wise to remember wellbeing is not the absence of ‘dis-ease’ but the mind, body spirit connection.
The sky’s were grey on my daily fix today but the scenery as inspiring as always and I am forever grateful to have the downs on my doorstep, I am very aware my ability to be the best version of myself includes my daily fix of fresh air and exercise.
Whatever it is in your life that makes you glad to be alive make sure you notice because it’s in the small things in life that we often find the clarity to allow the big things. We can never control how others see or react to life but we can decide how we do.
Make the right connections with yourself and watch trust and synchronicity become your partners in crime in ways that dreams not nightmares are made of.
