Love them where they are not where you think they should be or society tells them they should be and watch them blossom and grow…you know your child and their ‘why’ better than anyone else and love is powerful when it comes from a place of trust not fear. I’ve had some interesting conversations about education recently and I have brought the fear out in some people about the way I am approaching something with one of the children, it has been fascinating but the funniest conversation was with a couple of his peers on the way back from a rugby match today. We were talking about the out of box things we learn from every day life and what is around us. Their imaginations were amazing and I loved listening them come up with things they learn from things that often adults fear usually because of fear of judgement of other parents. It reminded me of how the world is changing in how we learn and how important the creative mind is as well as the logical. It is important we remember we are always more than the results on a piece of paper.
I had an observation yesterday that questioned peer groups, their indicated how little they knew my child and how able he is at communicating with everyone, I am incredibly aware of how I internalised everything and how very different my children are.
Our ability to know we are enough is vital to both our wellbeing and our resilience in life because we will never have all the answers, and we will sometimes question what to do next, but when we have strong roots and wings we know that when we trust more than we fear we use fear to guide us not control us and we use trust to know that we will either be given what we need or what we desire, our perception at the time will determine how we play that forward.
Teach them well, when you trust life yourself they learn it by osmosis. When we focus on being good at what we do the how will reveal itself one step at a time and when our why is bigger than us we just know even when we cannot see.
