Change is constant, we don’t have to like it but it’s better if we do. There is no such thing as normal and trauma happens to us all…so it’s never what happens that defines us but our perception and our ability to choose if we are going to react or respond…the decision will come down to us either having a good gut, brain connection or not…and each connection is unique to us.
If we constantly live in the mind we will respond from there, if we are connected to the body we will see the bigger picture and we will know everyone operates from a place of perception of their lives and we will no longer take things personally. The mind and body are linked but we can choose to disconnect.
I know someone who thinks that too many people act as victims, they believe ‘shit happens get over it’ or in other words ‘keep calm and carry on. What they are ‘ignorant’ to is that the mind and body keep the score …one or the other will ‘roar’ eventually. Equally, sometimes it’s not a ‘choice’ it’s a chemical reaction caused by them being in the wrong part of their body too much of the time ..and often it’s as a result of life simply becoming too overwhelming for whatever reason. Shifting this belief system and our operating system is not always as easy as flicking a switch and snapping ‘out of it’. We are also wise to remember we cannot decide where another person is operating from but we can notice and to choose if we are going to react or respond ourselves.
Make sure your perception of life is serving you well, make sure your own gut, brain connection is healthy for you and allow life to work for you not to you… it’s simple but it is a muscle and it will require you to make the right connections with your why and your ability to listen to your own heart and soul. You will need to understand your ‘heritage’ but use it to help you not control you. Don’t let your past determine your future.
