I saw someone over the weekend who ‘materially’ had everything money could buy, but when asked how he was, he replied.. ‘I look ok on the outside but inside I’m a mess … ‘ He ‘should’ feel utterly amazing and so many are envious of what he does have, and I wondered if it was ‘guilt’ at what he has done over the last few years and how it’s affected the lives of many of us on some level that made him say this or if he genuinely feels empty on the inside. He has indeed lost a lot on his journey and maybe he has gained a ‘little’ only he knows. I think I was the only one that heard what he actuallly said, the others were all too focused on what looks amazing from the outside and for some the excitement of his rollercoaster of his last few years is the proverbial ‘green grass’. Some might say he is now ‘sitting pretty’ but our mind is clever and perception is indeed everything. He is a clever man but the truth eventually finds its way one way or another, I hope his gains far out way the loses along the way because our lives are generally long and ‘happiness’ is priceless.
Peace within does not come without ‘work’ but do the right kind of work and everything falls into place, and it’s perhaps worth remembering, the grass is always greener where you water it. It was definitely a note to self evening on many levels.
Make sure you are connecting the right dots and living your life well on every level and allow life to work for you not to you. Your mind and/or your body will eventually scream if you don’t and ‘escapism’ catches up with you eventually. Living in fear never ends well, especially when you are fooling yourself and living free from guilt and/or shame is always a life well lived.
