Working with teenagers in the NHS has highlighted to me how easy it is for us to make our young feel different from the rest and when they do not fit into the nice neat ‘boxes’ society expects them to they gain labels to help us understand them more. Talking to these teenagers they often say the labels help them to take the pressure off themselves to fit in but what they do not help them do is find peace with who they really are. Sometimes anxiety is simply part of who we are but helping to reduce the stigma is more important than ever. Perhaps this article will resonate with you
